Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI)

Revolutionizing valve replacement with minimally invasive innovation.

TAVI (also known as TAVR – Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement) is a less invasive alternative to open-heart surgery for treating severe aortic stenosis. It is ideal for patients who are considered high-risk or not suitable for traditional valve replacement surgery.

How TAVI Works

During the TAVI procedure, a new valve is inserted via a catheter through a small incision in the groin or chest and guided to the heart. Once positioned inside the diseased aortic valve, the new valve expands and begins to regulate blood flow immediately.

Benefits of TAVI

  • No need for open-heart surgery or general anesthesia in many cases
  • Shorter hospital stay and quicker recovery
  • Minimally invasive with reduced risk of infection
  • Significant improvement in symptoms and quality of life

Who is Eligible for TAVI?

TAVI is typically recommended for patients with symptomatic aortic stenosis who are at high or intermediate surgical risk. Our multidisciplinary team evaluates your case using advanced imaging and functional assessments to determine your suitability.
